*Summer Program is Wrapping Up - Our 9 week summer program wraps up on Aug. 21st. This Friday, Aug. 19th, we are headed for Crab Cove for our final field trip and celebration. Please pray for safety and fun! You are also invited to get a "taste" of the summer program by coming out on Sunday, Aug. 21st at 3:00 p.m. for a short concert and closing program.
*Donation Request from Asian Health Services (AHS) ~ AHS is in need of financial support to purchase pill boxes for their patients. Pill boxes are effective for health management especially those who take multiple medications. AHS requests $500 to purchase 3,000 pill boxes. CCUMC has partnered with AHS in the past to purchase critical items, such as aerochambers (to aid asthma patients) and canes (to assist patients with their mobility.)
The Missions Ministry Team is campaigning to fund raise throughout August. One of the fun ways is to gather change (or dollar bills) we have around the house, put them in an empty pill bottle and bring it to church each Sunday to offer during worship. *Celebrating Missions! On September 4th, we will hear from Aeri about her time in Uganda. Worship will be followed by a delicious lunch Uganda style and a special report-back. You are invited to come to celebrate God's work in the world and amongst our brothers and sisters a continent away. You are also invited to come to learn more about YCVM, their ministry, and hear updates of the orphans, school building project and more. This is a great place to bring your questions!
*Small Groups Are Revving Up - Itching for more than Sunday worship? Want to build meaningful friendship with others? Wondering how to hear more from scripture? Small Groups are for you! Small Groups will convene for another season of intentional support, learning and growing beginning the week of Sept. 12th. Groups will meet in Oakland, Castro Valley and Union City. To learn more, connect with Burt, Jane, Becky, Steve or Charlie. A special kick-off party will be held Saturday, Sept. 10th from 5:00 - 8:00. All are welcome.
